Table d’hote
Table
d'hôte is a french phrase which literally
means "host's table". It is used in restaurant
terminology to indicate a menu where multi-course meals
are charged at a fixed price. Such a menu may also be called
prix fixe ("fixed price"). Because the
menu is set, the cutlery on the table may also already be
set for all of the courses, with the first course cutlery
on the outside, working in towards the plate as the courses
progress.
There
are maybe times when visitors
to restaurants are unsure of the french descriptions and
end up with some french delicacies they are unsure about
so we make sure we do not serve these items!. After our
meals you only have a short walk to your rooms!
Our table d’hote dinners are a must because we aim
to give our clients a taste of France especially our area
here in the Vendee! We
ask everybody what kind of things they do not particularly
like to make sure that everybody is happy to savour our
three course meal. Nelly, who is from Antwerp Belgium, is
an excellent cook, and can really bring the continental
food to your plate. She will then create the menu and prepare
for the evening! We are flexible with children, if they
prefer to eat earlier then that is no problem.
To begin with we offer an aperitif and then we all sit down
together to enjoy a very social evening, with good food,
good local wine, good conversation, and finish up with coffee/tea.
The price per person is 25 euros inclusive.
On request we can create a special evening,
with a European flavour, for example Spanish, Greek, Italian
and of course a French night with all local produce from
the Vendee.
